The story of Alaskan Snow  Manufacturing does not begin in a factory.

It begins thousands of miles away, surrounded by glaciers, mountains, and endless white landscapes on a journey through Alaska.

The beauty and stillness of that experience left a lasting impression — and the name Alaskan Snow was born.

What clients see today as a successful manufacturing business was built through reinvention, resilience, and decades of experience across multiple industries.

 

Starting with Education and development

Before Alaskan Snow became our primary focus, our business interests were deeply rooted in training and skills development within the food manufacturing sector. We worked extensively in education and industry training, helping develop knowledge and expertise within manufacturing environments across Southern Africa.

​

Our time in aviation

At the same time, we ventured into aviation, operating a charter airline that transported cargo throughout Africa. Aviation taught us precision, logistics, problem-solving, and the ability to operate in demanding and unpredictable conditions. Running aircraft across the African continent required adaptability, discipline, and a deep understanding of complex operations.

But industries change.

Government policy shifts placed enormous pressure on Private Training Providers across South Africa, forcing many businesses in the sector to close. The aviation industry also became increasingly difficult, with rising operational costs and constant unpredictability making it impossible to continue sustainably.

Reinventing ourselves 

Like many businesses facing major disruption, we had a choice: stand still or reinvent ourselves.

What remained was a very small ice cream business — modest at the time, but full of potential.

We chose to build.

Drawing on our experience in manufacturing, operations, logistics, technical training, and business development, we transformed that small operation into what is now one of Africa’s leading suppliers in the industry.

Every challenge along the way contributed to who we are today:
